Apple is known to put the suffix of ‘pro’ for its premium Macbook variants. However, this changed when for the first time, it used the same tag for its latest apple mobile phone, i.e. iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Hitherto, ‘pro’ meant better processors; however, in this case, it used such identification for a larger screen and a better camera, whereas the processor remained the same.
During the Apple Event, at first, apart from the size, it seemed that all the variants launched — iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro supported same features. However, a more thorough look revealed that the iPhone 11 Pro max specs included certain enticing features over others. Here is everything that you need to know about this phone – its common and unique features:
Appearance and Dimensions
Unlike the previous launches, Apple this time beefed up the size of its larger iPhone ( 11 Pro Max ). It should be commended for this step, as with a bigger size comes more significant benefits, especially a better battery that we all crave for. It also has the largest screen among the three a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR (also 458 ppi). The matte finish at the back of the phone is smoother and gives you a feel-good grip.
iPhone 11 Pro Max provides a battery that amazingly powers the device five hours more than its predecessor – iPhone Xs. The device supports wireless charging and holds a massive 3,969mAh battery inside. Apple says that 11 Pro Max offers up to 20 hours of video playback and up to 12 hours of video streaming.
Though the processors and cameras are experiencing innovation at a rapid speed, the same growth is not seen in the evolution of phone batteries. Thus such a significant jump in battery life is definitely a game-changer.
Among the various iPhone 11 Pro Max specs, the camera takes the limelight. On the rear, the device supports a tri-camera sequence. It carries a 12-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 12-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a12-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
With the third lens, this model adds a wide-angle which the standard iPhone 11 does not offer. Further, both the Pro models support two types of Portrait mode this year. Though one is similar to the one iPhone XR offered last year i.e. a pulled-back wide type, the other one is the zoomed-in type.
Even for selfie lovers, this phone has a lot. It sports a 12-megapixel camera on the front and has come up with a new feature of “slofies”. Apple has given the slow-motion videos recorded from the front camera as “slofies” Video can be recorded at 120 frames per second, which when diminished down results into a neat slow-motion effect. With this camera upgrade, Apple has set a new benchmark for its competitors.
Inside iPhone 11 Max Pro, we have the A13 Bionic chip with third-generation Neural Engine. It is faster than its predecessor and supports a 4GB RAM. Further the Bionic Chip will help the cameras identiy a picture pixel by pixel widening scoprof Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Like its predecessors, the iPhone 11 Pro Max comes with a Face ID feature that allows for swift recognition and unlocking. The iOS 13, launched in the same Apple Event, increases the processing speed, decreasing the lag time compared to its previous variants.
Apple mentions that “the most secure facial authentication in a smartphone, gets up to 30 % faster and easier to use with improved performance at varying distances and support for more angles”.
Additional Features of iPhone 11 Pro Max
With the launch of iOS 13.1 on September 30, Apple says, AirDrop will get an update. Users have welcomed this as AirDrop has often been in the news for its broken connectivity.
The sound system in iPhone Pro Max with spatial audio provides an immersive surround sound experience, and Dolby Atmos produces strong, moving audio.
Pricing and Availability
iPhone 11 Pro Max will be available in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB models in midnight green, space grey, silver and gold starting at INR 109,900, respectively. The phone is available through Apple Authorised Resellers and select carriers where it suggests the price might vary.
