The Galaxy Note 4 is the Note 3 successor and is expected to go head to head with the iPhone 6 this fall. The evaluation of these two flagship Smartphones will surely be a real battle for which one is the better Smartphone. Let us look at the specifications of these superb Smartphones and make the verdict.
Samsung has confirmed that they will unveil the Note 4 on 3rd September at the IFA event in Berlin. This will give them an upper hand against the iPhone 6 which is expected to come sometime in September or October this year. There are some rumors hinting to a possible October 20. Samsung will have more than enough time to capitalize on the Note 4 which is an added advantage to them if they take chance of the opportunity.
The Note 4 will sport a 5.7 inch Quad HD AMOLED screen with a display resolution of 2560 x 1440 with a pixel density of 515 ppi. It will also feature a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which will make it resistant top scratches, breakage and dust. In addition, one of the two variants will sport a unique curved OLED display.
On the other hand, the iPhone 6 is expected to sport a 5.5 inch display which is a pretty impressive move by Apple. The resolution is unknown nut there is a rumor of a sapphire crystal display for protection from scratches, breakage and dust.
The sapphire crystal display is better compared to the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 but the resolution and 515 ppi is credited to the Note 4 but with the iPhone 6 coming with a 5.5 inch, we expect a high resolution.
Galaxy Note 4
- Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7 GHz
- 16 MP rear camera with OIS and a 4 MP front facing camera
- 3GB RAM
- 32 GB internal storage
- LTE-A capabilities

- Fingerprint scanner like the S5
- Probably dustproof and water proof
- A8 processor with 64-bit capabilities
- Larger array of graphic processing cores
- 2GB RAM
- 16 GB, 32GB and 64GB storage options
- Likelihood for 128 external storage
- 8MP to 10MP camera
Looking at the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has undoubtedly outperformed the iPhone 6. The camera is better, it has a bigger RAM, and the internal storage is also bigger. However the 64-bit A8 processor is closer to the Snapdragon 805 processor.
In terms of raw hardware, the Galaxy Note 4 is undoubtedly better than the iPhone 6 and the Note 3 might also give the iPhone a battle. However, Apple never competes with flagship android Smartphones and the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 will actually do pretty well. The only factor is the release date, and the Note 4 has a month’s upper hand to exhaust the market before the iPhone 6 launches. The Note 4 will not exterminate the 5.5-inch iPhone 6, although it will make it appear less striking to public (those that are not fans of Apple).
