Is Lenovo S850 better than Lenovo S860?

Lenovo, the Chinese firm which is a multinational giant company has been manufacturing high end budget friendly smart phones and is among the leading manufacturers of Android Smartphone since 2012.

It has come up with some more budget Smartphones in the S-series, Lenovo S850 and Lenovo S860 that are not only pocket friendly but have good specifications too.

Lenovo S850 is the latest launch from Lenovo and is available for sale at leading stores in India. It is packed with both power and style and has gone beyond everyone’s expectations.

The Lenovo S850 is the latest addition to the Lenovo’s Android Smartphones which has already created a lot of buzz in the market with its amazing features and an affordable price tag. Here we compare Lenovo S850 and Lenovo S860 to get the best out of two.

Lenovo S850 comes with a 5 inch HD capacitive multi touch screen and has a resolution of 720*1280 pixels with 16M true colors. Lenovo S860 has a bigger 5.3 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a similar resolution of 720*1280 pixels.

Lenovo S850 has a powerful 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6582) processor with 1GB of RAM.  On the other hand, Lenovo S860 also has 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6582) processor but with better 2GB of RAM.

Both Lenovo S850 and Lenovo S60 runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Operating System out of the box. While the Lenovo S860 can be upgraded to the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS version. Both these smartphones have features like accelerometer, proximity, document viewer, predictive text input and active noise cancellation.

Lenovo S850 houses a 13 Megapixels autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a secondary camera of 5 Megapixels. While, Lenovo S860 houses an 8 Megapixels autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a secondary camera of 1.6 Megapixels. Both the smartphones’ rear camera feature geo-tagging, face detection, touch focus and HDR.

Both these smartphones have an internal memory of 16 GB, which is not expandable as there is no MicroSD card slot provided. This can prove to be a minus point for both of them.

Both these Smartphones come with various connectivity options. Lenovo S850 and Lenovo S860 have 3G, GPRS with EDGE, Wi-Fi/Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth connectivity and more. They also have a 3.5mm audio jack.

Talking about the SIM, both the Lenovo S850 and Lenovo S860 support dual micro-sim.

Lenovo S850 has a Li-Po non-removable battery of 2000 mAh which gives a maximum stand-by time upto 336 hours and talk time upto 13 hours. While Lenovo S860 boasts of a Li-Po non-removable battery of 4000 mAh that gives a much more stand-by time upto 684 hours and 960 hours in 3G and talk-time upto 43 hours and 24 hours for 2G and 3G respectively.

Considering all the features of both these smartphones, Lenovo S860 stands better than Lenovo S850. Lenovo S860 has a better processor and RAM with a bigger screen size and more of the battery backup. The one thing where Lenovo S860 lacks is the camera as Lenovo S850 has a better camera. Lenovo S850 is launched at Rs. 15,499 while Lenovo S860 was unveiled at Rs. 21,500.
