Is the Future of 4K Television Still Looking as Bright As It Once Did?


4k has been heralded as the future of TV but how impressive it is really?

With so many different types of television technology around just now is it possible that something else will come along and steal 4K’s thunder before it even really makes it mark?


The Basics
The first thing we need to understand is what 4K TV is all about in the first place. Basically, it is a way to get just about the clearest and sharper image on screen this is possible, although these models are still very expensive, so you will really want to look after one if you buy it.

A model of this type has over 8 million pixels, which gives it 4 times as many as you get in a Full HD TV. It also has a stunning resolution of 3,840 x 2,160, which is what ensures the incredibly sharp images.

If you get confused by terms like 4K, Ultra HD, 4K Ultra HD, and UHD, it is worth pointing out that these all mean pretty much the same thing. All of these names refer a television with the number of pixels and resolution previously mentioned.

How Good Is It?
When you watch a 4K television for the first time it is likely to the best viewing experience of your life to date. The clarity and sharp colors make it a wonderful way of watching your favorite programs or movies in style.

While there is no problem with the quality you are likely to experience, another issue to be considered is that limited availability of things to watch in 4K. More is becoming available slowly though, with cable providers starting to bring out 4K channels and blu-ray discs in this format expected soon.

The Competition

Of course, this type of cutting edge technology doesn’t come cheaply and a lot of eyebrows were raised recently at the price rag for the very first 8K TV from Sharp. With there being only a limited amount of 4K transmissions to watch now, it is no surprise to discover that finding something that uses an 8K TV to its full potential is even more difficult.

4K television models are still just about the best things around to watch shows, sport and movies on, provided that you can find a transmission that unleashes its potential. However, it is worth keeping an eye on 8K too, to see how quickly it becomes established and drops in price.
